Jake T. Austin was just named as the newest youth ambassador for Ronald McDonald House.
The 17-year-old actor will be the new voice for children battling pediatric cancer. Jake's official introduction will be later this month at Ronald McDonald House 20th Anniversary Gala event in New York City.
“We take our health for granted, when these kids are fighting for their lives every day,” Jake shared in a statement. “Ronald McDonald House-NY gives them and their families a place to feel comfortable and protected while going through these treatments for severe illnesses. I wish I could give these kids back one-third of the joy they have given me.”

Kids and young adults ages 5-25 worldwide are eligible to apply for a $500 Get Ur Good On Grant to support youth-led projects.
Projects must address a demonstrated community need or issue, and must take place during June, July and/or August 2012.
Applicants must have a Project Mentor to help throughout the project and applicants under 18 must have their parent/guardian's permission.
Applications are due by midnight EST May 27th, 2012.

GetUrGoodOn.org is the place for youth to share photos, videos, and write blogs posts about how they're doing good and making a difference in the world. Through Get Ur Good On Grants, YSA provides funds directly to young people who seek to improve their communities through service.

Last week, Target teamed up with the Willow Smith and her “Kids Helping Kids” campaign to award eight deserving New York kids and their families with a holiday shopping spree in the Target Harlem store.
The lucky kids were selected based on a nomination from The Boys and Girls Club of NYC for displaying leadership and academic excellence.
Fifty excited honor roll students from The Harlem Children's Zone also joined in on the early morning festivities to cheer on the families as they sped through the store.

Supah Ninjas star Ryan Potter and White Tiger Kung Fu are holding a toy drive for homeless children in the LosAngeles, California area.
Ryan's fellow Nickelodeon stars will be at the toy drive too. So far Dillon Lane from Bucket & Skinner’s Epic Adventures, Carlos Knight and Gracie Dzienny from Supah Ninjas, and YouTube sensation Ryan Higa will all be there to collect toys and meet fans.
