Your Facebook Chats are being Watched

 

Facebook several other social media are watching users’ chats for possible criminal activity.  If any suspicous activity is detected they will notify police.

 

The social site is using scanning softward that searches your chats for words or phrases that signal possible crime.  Passing along personal information or vulgar language could raise suspicion.

 

If something afoul is caught, Facebook security investigates and determine if the police should be contacted.

So be careful what your doing on social media, because you are being watched!

The Dark Knight Rises: Great End to Batman

The confusion between great endings and great movies, like the mindless who thought the last Harry Potter should have been nominated for best picture, is insane.   

The Dark Knight Rises, an unusually unstructured piece of work from Nolan, plays on that mindset. It’s obvious he wasn’t passionate about yet-another Batman movie. The story is confusing—Bane wants to release all prisoners to rule Gotham “NYC” and wants to destroy Gotham. 

 

The film could’ve easily done without the Catwoman.  Anne Hathaway was playing the character of Anne Hathaway in a black suit.  And Marion Cotillard was rather bland and unmemorable as Miranda.  However, Michael Caine’s teary confession in the end allowed us to understand the gravity of the situation. 

 

So it’s a great popcorn flick, something I was hoping not to take away from this movie.

'Damages' Is like an Old Friend Wrestling Emmy Giants

The last, first episode is what we expect from Damages (Season 5), but it didn’t age well in a world where The Good Wife, which is also a legal show starring a female protagonist, currently reigns. However, the famous flash-forwards are what keep the two shows separated.

Based on this episode, the lack of another case that keeps Patty and Ellen busy from further attacking themselves makes the episode too plain. Instead the creators combined the case and their indifference, which could be the boost the show has been looking for since the first two seasons. It’s just not clear yet.

'Prom Queen' New Reality Show Following High Schoolers

 

Time to go back to school for Lifetime's newest reality show Prom Queens.

 

Follow eight different high schools while girls compete for the the title of prom queen.  The series will "document the girls as they strategize and campaign amongst fellow students to win votes and achieve the crowning glory. Yes, the moms get in on the action too!

 

"Prom Queens" Season 1 will have eight hour-long episodes, the first of which airs on Tues., Aug. 14 at 10 p.m. ET on Lifetime.

Political Animals That Don’t Deserve To Live

Political Animals needs to stand back and look at the big picture.

The dull story comprised of writing that is trying too hard about a Hilary Clinton-esk character that divorces her former-president husband, becomes Secretary of State, and continues to be the mother of two sons, gay druggy immature for his age and the soon-to-be-wed “good” son.

 

The show delivers a poor introduction to the characters rendering them unlikable—who the hell cares about them? The painful show does contain one shred of light—Sigourney Weaver’s powerful performance. Unfortunately her natural ability cannot save the show’s unrealistic family tree. No family is comprised of people that interesting who aren’t exciting at all.

 

It’s obvious that “Animals” is vying for ratings. Even though the last two minutes showed a promising, forthcoming premise, the LONG pilot persuaded a future of poor execution.

Teen Pilot Fly Solo to Break Record

 

Sixteen year old Michael Gougeon (Ontario, Canada) is piloting planes to break records while most teens are just learning to drive a car. 

 

Michael will attempt to be the youngest pilot to fly solo across Canada from coast to coast in an amphibious aircraft.

 

He plans to leave from Tofino, British Columbia in a Cessna 182 to fly through the Rockies, across the Prairies, over thousands of lakes across Northern Ontario, and finally land in Halifax, Nova Scotia about a week later.   The trip should take about 25 hours of air time total.The nearly 3,000-mile trip is dependent on weather.

The First Instragram Photo ever Posted

 

After two years, 1 billion dollars and 30 million users its difficult to imagine that the first photo posted on Instagram was a photo of a foot and a dog. 

 

That historic photo was actually shot by Kevin Systrom, Instagram's co-founder and CEO. The foot belongs to Systrom's girlfriend.  And the dog? Was just hanging out at a taco stand. He doesn't even know that he's famous.

 

Congrats to Instagram as they celebrate their two year anniversary!
