Sunday night the pressure was on for the top spot during the women's gymnastics Olympic trials.
16-year-old Gabrielle 'Gabby' Douglas was there to make her dream come true as she soared through the air, flipped and landed the win! Gabby scored the highes by one-tenth of a point over her competitors for her spot in the Olympics.
Teens Jordyn Wieber, Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney and Kyla Ross were also named to the Olympic team making them the best gymnasts in the world!
The girls cried tears of joy as they heard their names announced as part of this historic team. All those hours of practice, hard work and sacrifice has provided them this moment of great achievement. They overcame fears, doubts and I bet they endured injuries along the way. What an achievement!
Proving that visualization combined with hardwork can paid off, McKayla Maroney tweeted a photo from her elementary school yearbook. With the photo she'd written, "My goal for the future is to be in the Olympics."
