The crowdfunding website IndieGoGo wants to increase the number of teen entrepreneurs.
Due to economic changes many college students feel there job options are limited, but haven't considered entrepreneurship as an option.
Fix Young America is a program created to help students learn about business ownership through real experience.
The program is divided into four parts, one for each semester of the school year.
(1) During the first semester, students would learn the basic theories of business and crowdfunding.
(2) Next, students would be tasked with brainstorming ideas, research and designing their marketing campaign.
(3) In the third semester, students would run their campaign and pitch to investors.
(4) Finally, students would review their experience and apply the lessons they learned to next year’s project.
Students will launch a new startup every year for ten years in middle school through college.
All of the startups are not expected to succeed, but its okay because, failure is an important and humbling part of becoming an entrepreneur.
